​Corten

​Corten steel is an alloy steel with increased resistance to weather conditions. Its full name is Cor-Ten steel, and the name comes from the English words "corrosionresistance" and "tensilestrength", which means "resistance to corrosion" and "tensile strength". Corten steel​ contains copper, chromium, nickel and phosphorus, which provide better corrosion resistance compared to traditional steel alloys. The color of this steel is characteristic because after some time of exposure to air, it is covered with a characteristic rust, which creates unique patterns on its surface. Corrosion resistance is provided by a coating of rust patina, which is a natural protection against further corrosion.
